In February/March 2009 Dad, myself and my two sons went along to the Tractor World Show held in Malven's three counties showground. This was our first tractor show but our main reason for attending was to obtain a fuel tap and primer assembly so we could get the cold start system running again.

For as long as I can remember (over 20 years) the cold start mechanism on the Super Dexta was non functional, an attempt to hook it all up again 15 years ago led to some damage to the tap threads which was plugged up with a wine cork!

Having had a good time at the show and purchased the required components we now just had to wait for the remaining fuel in the tank to be used up then we could fit the new tap and then we could throw away that nasty can of 'Easy Start'.

Typically before the diesel was used the tank fuel filter got blocked, the usual method of blowing back down the fuel feed pipe from the fuel filter housing to the tank didn't work and then the fun began.
